Tulsa Public Schools Channel 20 is located at the district’s Charles C. Mason Education Service Center at 31st & New Haven in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The television channel is allocated to the district through a charter between Tulsa’s primary cable provider, Cox Communications, Inc. and the City of Tulsa. The station is home to a spacious studio, complete with professional lighting, video equipment, non-linear editing units, digital playback and transmission facilities.

Channel 20 is available in 120,000 homes in Tulsa and surrounding areas and features both educational and informational programs highlighting the district and other events in and around Tulsa. Some of the regular programming you will see on TPS Channel 20 include: Health Alert, a program featuring interviews with area health professionals on topics related to health and fitness, The Locker Room which covers the district’s vast sports activities and highlights primarily boys football and boys and girls basketball.

The channel also televises regular district events such as the year ending Teacher and Support Employee of the Year Awards Banquet and the Back to School Teacher Convocation. Other programs include Metro Honor Music performances consisting of Jazz, Orchestra, Concert Bands, and Choirs made up of high school students in and around Tulsa. TPS Channel 20 is also home to the Classic Arts Channel and provides international news programming from Germany’s Deutche Welle News Network. These programs offer a variety of arts entertainment and news from around the globe and can be seen at various times throughout the day on our channel.

The staff at TPS 20 works tirelessly to provide the Tulsa community the best information possible in our district and the happenings in Tulsa. We are currently working to expand our schedule and production to include local children’s programming and a weekly news and interview program. The channel and staff are also making plans for a ground-breaking move in 2008 to Webster High School and the district’s new Broadcasting and Digital Media magnet program. We realize that the success of today’s young people affects our future and introducing interested students to the exciting media field, opens possible career opportunities that will last a lifetime.
