Harmony Project Tulsa (HTP) announced today that they will be celebrating their third anniversary with a back to school concert at 3:00 pm, on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 at the University of Tulsa Lorton Performance Center - Gussman Concert Hall, located at 550 South Gary Place, Tulsa, OK 74104. All are encouraged to attend this community event.

Since 2014, Harmony Project Tulsa has been providing children at Kendall Whittier Elementary as young as three-years-old with violins or cellos, music lessons, and academic tutoring after school for no charge. In three years, HPT has grown from 15 to over 100 students, and each year, the program has yielded overall positive results in state testing results.

All of these students will be performing at the back to school concert under the direction of the program's Master Teaching Artists and Tulsa Symphony musicians - Kathy Rad, Michael Nicholson, and Hannah Murray and Teaching Artist - Jocelyn Rowland Khalaf.

"This kick-off event for the 2017/2018 school year will showcase the talent our students have and incredible progress Harmony Project Tulsa has made in positively changing their lives - forever. Seeing and hearing our students will fill your hearts with joy and hopefully inspire you to support us in our mission!"

A special performance by the Tulsa Rock Quartet will also be included in the Concert. The Tulsa Rock Quartet is the Quartet in Residence for Harmony Project Tulsa. Members are Michael Nicholson - Violin, Hannah Murray - Violin, Ronnamarie Jensen - Viola and Kathy Rad - Cello.

This event is free to the public, however, seats are limited. Please contact kathy@harmonyprojecttulsa.org or call 918.688.1405 for more information.
