Pick-up/ Drop-off
Pick-up
Parents, please wait in the main hall if you are picking up your child after
school. Important: A note to parents who bring their children
to school and pick them up after school: Please do not block the front with
your car so the
school bus can get through to the designated area for the bus. A school
bus needs a wide space to maneuver so please be courteous to the drive and
the
children who ride the bus by leaving plenty of room in the front drive.

Circle Drive:
Parents, please note that the circle drive is one way only.
Please observe the marked areas for parking and do not block the crosswalk.

Lifeskills
We are continuing to stress Life Skills at Phillips this year.
The program is designed to help children reach their full potential
by building a positive self-esteem. Ask your child about it and watch
for the words of the week on your calendar each month. Your child
will again have the opportunity to be recognized for positive behavior
by eating with the principal. |
Safe
Schools
At Phillips, the following precautions are a part of our "Safe
School" plan:
-All parents, guardians, etc must check into the office before
escorting children to class. (Not all teachers or staff knows every
parent on sight). Parents will be given a Visitors sticker to wear
indicating they are an approved visitor.
-Only the front doors to the school will be open from the outside
during the school day.
-Middle school students MUST wait outside for younger siblings
regardless of the weather. Any other Middle School students are NOT
to be on the school grounds at all. |

Attendance
Parental Notification
When it is necessary for a student to be absent from school, the
parents/guardians are requested to notify the main office or attendance
office of the student’s absence and explain the reason for
the absence. Parents/guardians are responsible for calling the
school the day of the absence.
If calling that day is not possible, then a parental
note, complete with date and reason for the absence, must be turned
into the appropriate office within 48 hours after the student
returns to school. If the note is not received by the end of the
second day within the requested time frame, the absence will be
treated as unexcused.
