Students will learn about the Dreamweaver GUI; recognize how Flash text differs from HTML test; define a new site; name, title, and save documents; specify preview browsers; specify background, text, and link colors; put text on a page and format it; and use the assets panel to select and apply color to text.

Students will learn to explain vector graphics and raster images and their role in streaming technology, use the Flash Player, recognize Flash file formats, recognize Flash in action on various websites, understand the purpose of the stage, toolbar, panels, and timeline, open, close, and configure the panels in the workspace, work with Flash and use layers, use drawing tools, and use the property inspector to modify an object’s properties.

Course Syllabus

Scripting Language Fundamentals                                                                                                        11-12 Grades

Rationale and Course Description

This problems-oriented course will teach the use of dynamic graphics elements to enhance web pages and sites. Advanced concepts in page layout and site optimization will be studied with emphasis on principles used to craft dynamic web pages that get noticed. Exercises and projects will allow students to apply the principles of web design to their own sites that will be created in the course.

 

How will students learn?

A variety of methods are used. This may include, but is not limited to: lecture, videos, lab, demonstrations, cooperative learning, discussion, computer assisted, tutoring, online and self-paced learning.
