Rationale and Course Description

Shelter is a basic human needIn addition to basic shelter a home provides a venue for human interaction and self-expression.  All students will be required to make housing decisions throughout their life cycle.  Having the ability to make informed decisions will more likely lead to affordable and fulfilling housing choices.  Housing and Home Furnishings guides the student in acquiring knowledge and skills in selecting, financing and furnishing a living environment while also addressing safety and security concerns.  The students will also explore the many employment opportunities in the housing industry.
