Rationale and Course Description
Often thought of as the second year Marketing Education class, Business Management and Supervision offers a deeper exploration of marketing with an emphasis on management, distribution, pricing, purchasing, entrepreneurship, marketing research, and business essentials.
How will students learn?
Students will learn through a variety of methods including classroom discussion, major and minor projects, field trips, computer simulation programs, and other activities throughout the course of the year.

Students will be assessed on a point basis. Students will earn points on daily assignments, chapter and/or unit tests, research projects and classroom participation. The opportunity to earn additional points will be given at the instructor’s discretion throughout the year.
Major Projects/Products
During the first semester, Business Management students will complete two major projects. The first one is an exercise in marketing research and will be done with a partner. The second major project is a written Entrepreneurship Project that follows the outline provided each year by DECA. During the second semester, students will complete smaller projects dealing with pricing and product planning. They will end the year doing a 16-part start up business portfolio.
