Physical Education Pacing Calendar
4th Grade

Any 9 weeks section may be taught during any 9-week period.

1st Quarter

Standard 1: Demonstrates competency in many movement forms and proficiency in a few movement forms.
1.1 Demonstrates mature form in all locomotor patterns and selected manipulative and nonlocomotor skills.
1.2 Acquires beginning skills in applied settings.

Standard 5: Demonstrates responsible personal and social behavior in physical activity settings.
5.1 Follows, with few reminders activity-specific rules, procedures and etiquette.
5.2 Utilizes safety principles in activity situations.


2nd Quarter

Standard 2: Applies movement concepts and principles to the learning and development of motor skills.
2.1 Applies critical elements to improve personal performance in fundamental and selected specialized motor skills.

Standard 3: Exhibits a physically active lifestyle.
3.1 Participates in physical activity for the purpose of improving skill and health.

Standard 4: Achieves and maintains a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.
4.2 Participates regularly in aerobic activities for the purpose of improving fitness.

Standard 5: Demonstrates responsible personal and social behavior in physical activity settings.
5.3 Recognizes some of the opportunities for physical activity in the community.


3rd Quarter

Standard 2: Applies movement concepts and principles to the learning and development of motor skills.
2.2 Understands the importance of appropriate practice for improving performance.

Standard 4: Achieves and maintains a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.
4.1 Identifies several activities related to each component of physical fitness.

Standard 6: Demonstrates understanding and respect for differences among people in physical activity settings.
6.1 Explores and respects cultural/ethnic self-awareness through participation in physical activity.
6.2 Recognizes and understands the role of games, sports and dance from difference cultures.


4th Quarter

Standard 3: Exhibits a physically active lifestyle.
3.2 Identifies the benefits derived from regular physical activity.

Standard 4: Achieves and maintains a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.
4.3 Meets the health-related fitness standards as defined by Fitnessgram.

Standard 7: Understands that physical activity provides opportunities for enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and social interaction.
7.1 Experiences joy in personal successes and achievements of self and others during physical activity.
7.2 Participates and interacts with others in interesting and challenging physical activities.
