If
you want to inspire and help young people to be all they can be, join the ranks
of the substitute teachers. You will have an opportunity to teach a
variety of subjects, and you may want to turn this classroom experience into a
career.
If you have a
teaching certificate, start your career as a substitute teacher. Be a part
of a profession that has a direct impact on the future. There are
available opportunities in daily substitute work as well as long-term substitute
opportunities.
Pick up an
application at the Education Service Center, Substitute Teachers Office, 3027 S.
New Haven, 2nd floor, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74135, or download and print the
application. Bring your application to a scheduled workshop. Anyone desiring to be a
substitute teacher, must attend a workshop on SubFinder. SubFinder is a
voice-activated calling system.
BRING APPLICATION AND ALL THE
FOLLOWING TO A WORKSHOP:
1.
Your Social Security Card.
2.
A copy of a State issued Driver’s License, Birth Certificate, a U.S. Military card, or a
United States Passport.
3.
A photocopy of an official college transcript or a student copy of a
college transcript or a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
4.
If Oklahoma Certified, a copy of a valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate
must be in the Substitute Teacher file.
