The use of school facilities by educational, political, literary, cultural, religious, scientific, civic, or recreational community organizations is allowed provided that the intended use of the facility by the organization is consistent with the permitted use described in School Board Policy.  By opening its facilities for use by community organizations, the District intends to create a limited forum.  The District has developed regulations governing the use of school facilities by non-school organizations.  The Facilities Utilization Department is responsible for the implementation of these regulations, while ensuring that each group is served professionally and sufficiently.

While school-related functions will be given priority over community use of school facilities, ample opportunity is granted for the community to utilize our 82 facilities for events such as:

Pageants (fashion/talent shows)

Receptions

Religious meetings

bullet

Reunions (class, family)

bullet

Sports

bullet

Theatrical events (dance/musical recitals, plays)

Procedures for Use of Tulsa Public Schools' Facilities

Step 1Contact the school to verify the availability of the date(s), times and facility. (Directions to school.)

Step 2:  Obtain an application from the school of choice, the Facilities Utilization office, or from this website.

Step 3:  Complete the application, including the signature of the Authorized Representative (Licensee) at the bottom right of the application.  Forward the application to the school of choice to obtain the approving signature of the principal or the staff member responsible for scheduling events.

Step 4:  The application will be routed to the Facilities Utilization Office for final approval, appropriate rental rate, insurance requirements and evaluation of security needs.
