Dr. Butler has been with Tulsa Public Schools as Director of Health Services for 12 years.  Prior to her tenure at Tulsa Public Schools, as a nurse attorney, she held positions at The University of Tulsa as Associate Dean in Nursing, faculty in Sociology/Criminal Justice, and Adjunct Professor in the College of Law.  She serves as consultant to various health and legal communities, teaches collegiate level courses in her fields of expertise, including diversity education, at various Colleges and Universities in the State. She has also served on various community boards.  The health program she hosts has also received numerous awards of excellence such as The Public Health Excellence Award of The College of Public Health University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.  The statewide program entitled “Health Alert” can be seen locally on Cox Cable Channel 20. Dr. Butler is licensed to practice in both nursing and law in the State of Oklahoma, and also holds certification as an Oklahoma School Nurse.

Dr. Butler earned her BSN at Howard University College of Nursing in Washington, D.C., MS at University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD, and JD
at Georgetown University College of Law in Washington, D.C.
