Taylor L. Young Ph.D.
Assistant Superintendent of Special Education and Student Services

Taylor L. Young, Ph.D., Assistant Superintendent for Special Education and Student Services, earned a Bachelors Degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston Illinois 1975; Masters Degree in Education, Illinois State University in 1980, Bloomington-Normal, Illinois; Doctor of Philosophy in Human Services University of Denver 1988, Denver Colorado.

Dr. Young joined the TPS staff in 2002, and has worked in the field of special education since 1975. His experiences have included serving as a special education teacher at the high school and middle school levels, a private tutor, a homebound instructor, Supervisor and Director of Special Education, Senior Consultant for School Finance, State of Colorado, principal of a public school serving children with profound cognitive and physical challenges, Director of Education, residential child care facility for seriously emotionally disturbed children; Title I Literacy Specialist, Title I Supervisor and Title I Director.

Dr. Young holds certification in the State of Oklahoma as a Superintendent, elementary and secondary principal, teacher of Mild to Moderate Disabilities, Severe profound/Multiple Disabilities and Biological Sciences. He also holds teaching and or administrative certificates in the states of Illinois and Colorado.
