Who's taller? What's longer? Young students love making comparisons. This
hands-on science kit provides a solid foundation for understanding 2 important
concepts: measurement is based on comparing; and using standard units helps
people work with and communicate size comparisons effectively. Students use
various measuring tools—life-size cutouts of their bodies, adding machine paper,
coffee stirrers, pencils, Unifix® cubes, and more—in a range of activities, all
of which prepare them for future formal measuring in units such as inches and
centimeters. Printable Kit ItemsTeaching AidsTeacher Submitted AidsThis space is used to share any useful tool & tips that you use in your classrooms with this kit. Student Safety ContractAt the first of every school year, each student should be given a copy of this contract. It must be signed by student, parent or guardian and returned to you. One copy per student covers all elementary kits. Keep them on file for the duration of the school year. You can open and print the contract here.
