Rotation Program Buy-In Procedure
Buy-In Requirements
To buy into the Science Kit Rotation Program, a school is
required to cover the cost of purchasing ½ the kits the school would need for a
school year. The SRC will cover the other half. The school is also required to
cover the cost of 2 refurbishments for each kit purchased. The buy-in is
usually around $10,000.
Example:
- School X has grades K-5 (total of 6 grade levels).
- Each of the 6 grades have 2 classrooms each (total of 12
classrooms/kits per quarter / 48 kits per year)
- School X must cover the expense of purchasing ½ the kits
your school would use per school year (24 kits).
- School X must also cover the purchase of 2
refurbishments per kit purchased (total of 48 refurbishment units)
- The kits paid for by School X become the property of the
SRC and are placed into the pool of kits stored, refurbished and cycled
through the rotation program.
Benefits
- Each quarter the kits are picked up and replaced by a
different kit so that each grade level/classroom has a different kit 4 times
per year.
-
Click here to view the 2007-2008 Kit Rotation Schedule. Your school would
be added to the schedule and would look similar to other elementary or middle
schools.
- Once you have bought into the program, your expenses
end.
- You are not charged for refurbishments or for pick up
and delivery each quarter.
- Some kits incorporate live organisms (fish, worms, bugs,
etc). The SRC covers that cost also.
Want To Proceed?
The request to proceed needs to come from your school’s
Principal.
- I will need to know which grade levels will participate
and how many classrooms each.
- Then I will compare your requirements with our inventory
to determine which kits will need to be purchased.
- After our vendor provides the quote I will email the
school Principal all the details.
