PRESS RELEASE - August 8, 2007
Mark Your Calendars for TPS Opening Day Activities!
Tulsa Public Schools’ Continuous Learning Schools kick off on Tuesday, August 7th and regular session schools begin on August 20th. While students enjoy their last two weeks of summer, teachers and administrators are already gearing up for what promises to be an exciting year.
Experienced educators know children are more likely to thrive when they are familiar with their surroundings and comfortable with any changes they may face with a new school or teacher. Anyone who remembers a first day of school remembers how daunting it was to open their locker with other kids watching, to wander around crowded corridors in search of a classroom, and meet a teacher for the first time. Many Tulsa Public Schools are offering remedies to students’ (and parents’) first-day jitters.
