• Congratulations to the students who participated in this year's "Reach for the Stars" program sponsored by Mr. Gary Parker of Usborne Books. Students read for 10 school nights and raised money from sponsors that allowed them to receive Usborne Books. The books were presented to the students by Mr. Parker on February 14 in the Library Media Center. Our school also received three free books for our media center.

· Our College Bound Cadets celebrated "Red Ribbon Week" with daily activities to stay drug free and pledged to do so by signing our banner that is on display in our cafeteria.

· We had some very special volunteers from Harare Zimbabwe Celebration Church in Africa who helped out in Ms Kim Graham's room!

· Back-to-School night was Thursday, August 30. Thanks to all of our families who came out that night to enjoy a hotdog dinner, purchase new school spirit shirts from PTA, visit with our Partners in Educations, and meet our outstanding teachers and staff members. Click here for pictures

· The first day of school was an exciting event here at Academy Central. Our new principal, Mrs. Johnson, welcomed students and parents. Click here for pictures

· A special “Thank You!” to our Partners in Education from Reliant, Inc. for the wonderful new landscaping in front of Academy Central. Along with the help of students, teachers, and parents working under the sweltering Oklahoma sun, the entrance creates a welcoming entrance to our wonderful school! Click here for pictures
