       Byrd Middle School emphasizes academics, citizenship, community spirit, and building character. Our principal and staff work together with students, parents, and the community to enhance learning opportunities for diverse learners, and to provide academic enrichment in all areas of the curriculum.

     We are members of the China Exchange Program through
OKITEA and we have a sister school in Beijing, China.

     The Beijing V China Exchange Group  returned to school on the 25th of March. We are glad they are back safe and sound. We are awaiting their pictures, videos, and special stories that they will be sharing.

Cyberspace Pursuit 2008 - Congratulations to Michael Kramer, Jonathan Bramsch, and Will Brock . The Cyberspace Pursuit Team just won 1st Place for the State of Oklahoma. Mrs. Lasker and Mr. Clemmer were the sponsors.

      Mrs. Lasker and Mr. Clemmer have won a Cox Tulsa Cable Educator's Grant for the Pre-Engineering Program. Congratulations!

     Congratulations to Mrs. Lasker, winner of
the Oklahoma Technology Association’s Teacher of the Year Award for 2008!

Congratulations to Mr. Beaver and the 8th Grade Concert Choir! Byrd Middle School 8th Grade Concert Choir received 3 straight Division 1 ratings in Performance and a Division 1 rating in site-reading.
