Carnegie Computer Corner

January 2008,

Parents welcome to the Computer Corner section of our Carnegie website.  At Carnegie all students Kdg- 5th grade attend computers on a regular schedule.  The students will learn and explore a vast range of information pertaining to the insides and outsides of computers and programs.  The students will use different programs for specific subject practice and learning also, such as Math, Science, Reading, etc.

From time to time the students will be given Scholastic Software order forms.  These are just like book orders from other teachers, but mine contain mostly educational computer programs.  If you choose to order from Scholastic the orders take about 2 full weeks to come to the building, then I will send them home with the students.

*NEW*

We are now able to allow parents to purchase software from our order forms using a credit card.  The key is, the credit card orders must be placed over the internet.  I have posted a few emails to the  Carnegie Emailing Group, and have sent home a small flyer with the instructions on how to access the website for the orders.  Below you will find a copy of the internet ordering instructions!

Dear Parent(s),

I wanted to let you know that Scholastic has a new, convenient way for you to place your Software Club orders. Now you can send me your Club orders online.

Shop the titles in the printed flyer, and enjoy the same great selections and low prices while continuing to help our classroom earn Bonus Points for FREE books, software, and resources.

Here are some other benefits:

·             See an expanded selection of books, software, and learning materials.

·             There’s no need to write a check or send cash to school.

·             Order anytime right up until the online order due date.

·             Receive an email confirmation of your order.

Here’s how to get started:

1.           Use the information below to access the Scholastic Book Club Web site.

2.           Browse the titles with your child, and place your order with a credit card.

3.           I’ll receive notice of your order while the credit card payment is sent directly to Scholastic.

4.           After I submit the entire class order to Scholastic, your order will be delivered to our classroom and distributed to your child.

The site is private and secure. To access it, go to the Web address below and enter the personalized Class User Name and Password that I set up:

www.scholastic.com/parentordering

Class User Name: carnegie

Password: carnegie

It’s that easy. I hope you enjoy the convenience of ordering online. Remember, you can always use the printed flyer instead and have your child hand in a Book Club student order form and payment at school.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely, Mr. Morgan

Thank you for visiting our school website.  I hope you find the information you are looking for.

Regards,

S.Morgan
