School Schedule
Kindergarten:
As of the 2007-2008 school year, Carnegie will offer a Full-Day kindergarten program. Classes begin at 7:55 and end at 2:45. The students have a 30 minute lunch period, along with a morning and afternoon recess during the day. The students also leave the classroom for Computer Lab, Music, PE, and Library on a rotating schedule.
1st and 2nd Grade:
First and second grade classes are self-contained with one teacher per class. Classes begin at 7:55 and end at 2:45 . The students have a 35 minute lunch period, and either a morning or afternoon recess during the day. The students also leave the classroom for Computer Lab, Physical Education, and Music on a rotating schedule.
3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade:
Students in third, fourth, and fifth grades travel throughout the day in two hour blocks. They spend two hours in Communication Skills (reading, spelling, language, and grammar), two hours in Math/Science, and two hours in a Specials block. The Specials Block works on a rotating schedule. On one day the students travel to Social Studies and Art for one hour each. On the opposite day the students travel to Music, PE, and Computer Lab for 45 minutes each. The students have a 35 minute lunch/recess break. Classes begin at 7:55 and end at 2:45.
