"It is not
the style of clothes one wears,
neither
the kind of automobile one drives,
nor the amount of money one has in the bank, that counts. These mean nothing. It is simply service that measures success."
George Washington Carver |

Behavior
Expectations
A primary responsibility
of Carver Middle School staff is to maintain a disciplined
environment conducive to learning. Carver is a community.
The rules and regulations of Carver are laws of that
community. All those enjoying the rights of citizenship in
the school community must accept the responsibility of
obeying the laws of community. Students attend Carver Middle
School because of the school's tradition of excellence which
is maintained by high standards. Student behavior is
expected to reflect these high standards.
Academic Expectations
The regulations for
academic performance at Carver require that students work to
achieve maximum potential. Students must maintain a letter
grade of "C" in all classes. Students who do not meet the
standards for academic performance may have their transfers
revoked if they do not meet the terms of probation.
Mission Statement
It is the mission of Carver
Middle School to promote and maintain academic excellence in a
threat-free environment, to encourage self-discipline, service
to the community, and life-long learning by developing
responsible citizens. Our tradition is excellence; our concept
is diversity; our potential is unlimited; our future is global.
Philosophy
We believe that all middle
school students can and will learn. Carver Magnet School is
dedicated to the concept of a child-centered program which
empowers the learner to expand his/her academic knowledge,
to develop further potential to achieve, to experience
success and to assume responsibility for social, emotional
and intellectual behavior.

Carver Middle
School Creed
-
I believe in honest work,
generous comradeship, and in the courage of high
convictions.
-
I believe in the
inspiration that comes from contact with all that is truest
and best in people, in books, and in life.
-
I believe in loyalty to
mankind; I believe in loyalty to our school, and in those
high ideals of life as were practiced by Dr. George
Washington Carver.
-
And I pledge to Carver
Middle School my allegiance in all her undertakings that
will make her a stronger and nobler school.
Academic
Probation
We expect excellence from
our students and for that excellence to be reflected in
their grades. However, if a student makes two or more
grades below a "C" for any quarter, that student will be
placed on academic probation. The student, parents, and
Carver faculty will share the responsibility of improving
that student's academic performance. The Academic
Probation Student/Parent Agreement identifies specific
strategies to help the student improve his or her grades.
The student must maintain a "C" grade in all classes for two
consecutive quarters to be taken off academic probation.
