Mrs. Edwards' Reading Vision for Carver

EVERYONE in the building (the entire Carver population including students and all of the adults in the building) are avid, contagious readers who discuss and share their favorite books and authors with each other and members of the Carver Community (parents, neighbors, Partners in Education, Coaches, and Carver visitors).
EVERYONE in the building regularly borrows books from the library to read and requests books they want to be available in the library.
EVERYONE explores the library collection just to know where things are and what is available to them and to discover books that appeal to them personally.
EVERYONE discovers the joy of reading!
EVERYONE takes Reading Counts quizzes of books they have read so that we can have a partial measurement of our community reading intensity.

GOALS:

EVERYONE in the building will read at least 100,000 words by the end of the next school year. (Get started over the summer!)
TOGETHER, we will read a minimum of 500 MILLION words by the end of the next school year.
