LIFESKILLS

 

    Chouteau Elementary is working to incorporate "Lifeskills" into the daily routines in classrooms and the school.  These ideals are posted throughout the building, discussed in class, and promoted in other ways.  Chouteau believes that by encouraging students to embrace these ideals they will develop valuable skills for success and happiness in both school and life.

                            Integrity:  To act according to what is right and wrong.

                            Initiative:  To do something because it needs to be done.

                            Flexibility:  The ability to alter plans when necessary.

                            Perseverance:  To continue in spite of difficulties.

                            Organization:  To plan, arrange, and implement in an orderly way.

                            Sense of Humor:  To laugh and be playful without harming others.

                            Problem Solving:  To seek solutions in difficult situations.

                            Responsibility:  To be accountable for your actions.

                            Patience:  To wait calmly for someone or something.

                            Friendship:  To make and keep a friend through mutual trust and caring.

                            Curiosity:  To investigate and seek understanding.

                            Cooperation:  To work together toward a common goal.

                            Caring:  To feel and show concern.

                            Courage:  To act according to one's beliefs.
