Moving Mars
by Greg Bear
Subjects: Computers or Technology, Human Nature
Genre: Science Fiction
Earth
has colonized the moon, the asteroid belt, and Mars. It is the year 2171. Mars,
is an interesting place, the new frontier, colonized by strong and independent
pioneers, perhaps too independent. Casseia Majumdar, a government management
student, and Charles Franklin, a physicist, never imagined that their unwilling
participation in the student protests at the university on Mars would be the
beginning link in the chain of events that would stir up revolt and bring all of
civilization to the brink of destruction and beyond. Mars whose government
resents Earth's restrictions, an invention capable of great good or great
destruction, spies, suspicion, and human nature are all key elements woven into
this story. Human nature, human nature is a funny thing. It can get you
killed.
