REFLECTIONS 2007-2008
 
Theme: I Can Make a Difference by:...
 
Deadline: Friday, November 30th 2007
 
Reflections is a cultural arts program sponsored by the National PTA.  Use your imagination to create an original work depicting your interpretation of this year's theme: I Can Make a Difference by:... .
 
You may enter an original piece of :
 
literature (fiction or non-fiction in prose, poetry, or drama),
 
photography  visual art (prints, drawings, paintings, etc.),
 
musical composition (instrumental, voice, or both),
 
film/video production (Animation - drawn, collection or objects such as clay or torn paper, etc. or computer-generated, Narrative- a story told through images created on film, video or computer. Documentary - nonfiction documentation using narration, facts, and images. Experimental - Video that explores movement, light, and montage. Media presentations using computers) or
 
Dance Choreography.
 
Copies of the entry form, general rules and specific rules for each category can be found and easily printed at www.okpta.org. Just click on  Downloads and then on Reflection Forms.
 
Forms are also available through participating Language Arts, Art, and Photography teachers or by contacting Ann Babst at design077@excite.com or at 747-8915.
 
The deadline for turning in entries is Friday, November 30th, 2007.  Entries should be turned into participating teachers:
 
Linda Broughton, Susan Griffin, Nancy Sangiardi, Katie Bartley, Elizabeth George, Paul Stevenson, or Roxanne Preston.
 
Up to three winning entries from each category will be sent on to compete in the State Competition. The PTSA will award cash prizes for school and state winners. Dr. Holt will award an extra long lunch period for each participant in the Middle School. Some teachers are awarding extra credit points for each entry.
