Attendance Policy 07-08

Unexcused Absences : Students will be allow only (4) unexcused absences per semester.  These include absences due to vacations, ball games, horse shows, sleeping in, and car trouble. After (4) unexcused absences have accrued the TPS school and District Accountability Department will contact the District Attorney's Office for non-attendance.

Explained Absences: Students will be allowed only (9) explained absences per semester. These include absences due to illness without a doctor's visit, family emergencies, etc.  After (9) explained absences have accrued the TPS School and District Accountability Department will contract the District Attorney's Office for non-attendance.

Excused Absences: These absences include illness with doctor/dentist visit, funerals, "non-TPS" school shadowing.  Absences will only be excused if the office is provided with documentation within 48 hours of absence.  Absences will not be changed after 48 hours of absence.  Documentation should consist of doctor/dentist notes, funeral notices, and shadowing certificates.

*Please remember to call the office by 9:00AM anytime your child will not be at school.
         The office number is 746-8700. Mrs. Martin is no longer handling attendance. You must contact the office.

All students arriving after the 7:55 bell need to report to the office for a tardy slip.

**PTA will be sponsoring a festive celebration luncheon at the end of each semester for all students without absences or tardies.**
