Teaching
I started teaching in the fall of 1983. I
taught first grade in Wisconsin. My husband and I moved to Ohio in 1984,
where I taught Kindergarten for seven
years.
In 1994, our family moved to Iowa. For
seven years, I taught second-fifth grade Special Education. Many of my
students had significant behavior issues. The school was in a high crime
neighborhood and focused on the Reggio Approach to learning. I was also on
the district's technology training and support team.
The last year I taught in Iowa I started
the Primary Autism program for the Linn-Mar school district. I had five
students with severe Autism.
We
moved to Oklahoma in 2004 for my husband's job. I taught Kindergarten in
Owasso for the 2004-05 school year. I started teaching at Eliot in the fall
of 2005 as a Kindergarten Teacher. In the fall of 2006, I moved up with my
Kindergarten to First Grade.
This year I am teaching in the Resource room, which is located near the
Computer lab.
