Come see our Community Park - (Soon to be officially named.) We will dedicate it on Friday, May 2nd at the Annual Picnic.

Up With Trees helped by donating the trees and showing us how to plant them. It was a great day

Bob the "Builder": Mrs. Persson's husband Bob helps out by putting together new benches for our park! We are having trees planted around our new walking track. Thanks! We always need people to help out!

Get Your Motor Runnin!’ – It’s our 3rd Annual Million Word Reading Contest!

This contest is for 3rd through 5th grade students at Emerson. If they have read 1 million words by May 9th of 2008, they will be awarded a ride in a huge Hummer limo to a fancy lunch at Spaghetti Warehouse.

The other levels are 50,000, 100,000, 250,000, 500,000 and 750,000 words and will have great prizes too!

The word count will go retroactively to the beginning of the school year. The way that we keep the count is through Accelerated Reader Quizzes that are taken.

Each time a quiz is passed, the words are added to their name. Only books in their reading range are counted. Last year, we had 20 children win the top prize! Ask your child if they are participating.
