Test Taking Tips:

It's spring and it's time for testing!  Our “big” test, the Oklahoma Core Curriculum Test for grades 3 thru 5 is scheduled for April 10 thru the 22nd.  The 3rd and 4th grades take reading and math tests.  The 5th grade gets to take reading, math, science and social studies.  These tests are VERY important for your children and for our school.  It is very important to do everything we can to help our students do well on the test.   Every year we send home student/parent guides to the test.  Go over these with your students. Help them understand the importance of doing well on the test.

THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT TEST FOR YOUR 4TH GRADE STUDENTS.   THE FOURTH GRADE TEST SCORES ARE  USED TO HELP DETERMINE ACCEPTANCE  INTO MAGNET SCHOOLS FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL ENROLLMENT.  Fourth grade scores are usually used because 5th grade scores are not back in time for middle school enrollment.

HELP CHILDREN GET TO BED BY 9:00:  Just when the weather is improving and the day is longer, here we go asking you to go to bed earlier, when we really want to stay up later!  Most of us are more active in the spring.  Soccer and softball are starting.  We want to stay up later. However, getting enough sleep is one of the most important things we can do to help students be well prepared for testing.  Start now in getting your student to bed on time so they will be rested and refreshed.  Testing is always in the morning so students need to be on time, ready and able to do well.
