Interaction with others.

musical instrument requires Dedication and Determination. At Gilcrease
we strive to make the musical experience fun and exciting as well
as educational.

Childhood music lessons enlarge the brain.
Researchers found that the area in the brain that analyzes musical pitch is an
average of 25% larger in musicians. The younger the student is when the

Rhythm Students Learn Fractions Better
After learning eighth, quarter, half and whole notes/rests, 2nd
and 3rd graders scored 100% higher than their peers who were taught
fractions using traditional methods.

school districts since 1985

Philosophy of Teaching
Students should
have a caring, non-threatening environment in which to learn . Music is a
vehicle that can take the student to many wonderful places as it gives them many
wonderful experiences academically and socially. My job is to
utilize music to help them in all other content areas.
Gilcrease offers two classes
in instrumental music. If you are interested in Strings class or Band
class please make a request when enrolling.
