Grissom Elementary is an innovative elementary school who believes the arts are essential.  Our students become more creative thinkers, more confident learners and more fulfilled with arts instruction.  Our teachers also have a creative outlet to support the core curriculum.

Grissom is an Oklahoma A+ Inaugural school.  Oklahoma A+ is a network of Oklahoma schools that are committed to integrating the arts in the core subjects on a daily basis.  We teach the students to identify their multiple intelligences so they can be confident learners.  We were accepted into the network in 2002.  Grissom teachers have participated in two Summer Institutes at Oklahoma School of Science and Math where teachers collaborated on ways to integrate the arts into core subjects.

The teachers map out their curriculum using the PASS objectives.  Each nine weeks they collaborate with the arts teachers and grade level teachers to support each others' subject matter and concepts.

Our parents are active in volunteerism, fundraising and share in the school's mission to help each child develop a solid academic, social and emotional foundation.
