Bloom by Elizabeth Scott

Lauren has a good life- good friends, okay grades, and the perfect boyfriend, who every girl dreams of dating. So why is she so unhappy? She seems to be depressed compared to the people around her until she sees Evan Kirkland. Lauren starts to realize who she could be with Evan, and all she has to do is leave Dave. With two very different guys in love with her, Lauren has to decide who she wants to be. Should she do the "right" thing and stay with Dave, or should she make herself happy with Evan?
I liked this book because it shows that even the "right" thing can be wrong when it doesn't make you happy.

Jason and Kyra by Dana Davidson

Jason Vincent is a popular, incredibly good-looking, star basketball player. Every girl wants to be with him and every guy want to be him. Kyra Evans is low-key, different, out-of-style, and super smart. When they are put together to work on a research project, Kyra is angry and Jason is perfectly happy. They end up becoming friends, but Kyra feels something further. The more they talk, she begins to fall for him. Could two people who are so different possibly be together? Kyra doesn't want to get her hopes up, but she can't stop thinking about it. I really liked this book because it shows that people from two different worlds can be together as long as they love each other.

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen

Annabel Greene: the girl that has everything. Head cheerleader, straight A student, lots of friends, and Prom Queen on top of it all. At least, that's who she plays on a TV commercial. In real life, though, she has nothing. No friends to confide in, and that's really all she needs and wants. Someone that will Just Listen, then she meets Owen Armstrong. At first, he's a mystery to her. As the school year unfolds, she gets to know Owen. He is not at all what she expected, but he listens and he's honest. He tells her things the way it is, and does not judge people for the wrong reasons. Does Annabel finally have someone that she can tell everything that happened to her? This is a great book because a lot of people can really relate to it.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Elizabeth Bennett, possibly the most complex heroine of English Literature, is living in provincial England at the turn of the 18th century. One of four sisters, all a part of their mother's grand plan to get each one married, Elizabeth chides formality and the rules of courtship of her time. When she meets Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy, she is taken aback by his snobbery and becomes disgusted at the very thought of him. As the novel unfolds, however, she realizes that her pride may be erring her judgment of him. As this is Mrs. Womack's favorite novel of all time, it is a captivating story with an intricate plot. If you love romance, this classic is a must read! There will always be a copy available in the library!!!

Summer Boys by Hailey Abbott

Ella is in love with her sister's boyfriend; Beth is in love with her best friend; and Jamie is in love with a boy who wants nothing to do with her. It is one crazy summer in Summer Boys for these three cousins. They are looking for happiness in different ways and not all of them find it. The book is good because it shows that family is always there for you, no matter what.

Twilight  by Stephenie Meyer

Book 1 in the Twilight Series

When Bella decides to move to Forks, Washington to live with her dad, a most unexpected event occurs. Inherently clumsy and "plain", as she believes, a strange, yet gorgeous fellow student, Edward Cullen, begins to show a bizarre interest in her. At first, Edward acts frigid and disgusted by Bella, but then he softens and wants to spend more and more time with her. The sequence of events that unfold will leave the reader spellbound and mesmerized, wanting more! Twilight offers a perfect blend of romance and suspense, you will not be able to put this book down. White Lies and Barefaced Truths by Cathy Hopkins

Cat and Becca are the best of friends and always have been. Nothing will ever come between them, that is, until they both start liking the same guy at school-- Ollie Oxford. There are just a few problems though: 1) Cat has a boyfriend 2) Cat can't tell Becca how she's truly feeling 3) Ollie is only interested in Cat. I really liked this story, the English setting made it very interesting and showed how the girls' lives are different than the ones we lead.
