Library Media Center - newly remodeled for
Fall '06

PS -It's never this empty!
Mission: Scholars will become
self-directed, life-long learners; effective communicators; constructive
thinkers; and community contributors. The library media specialist will
collaborate with teachers in designing learning activities and instruction that
strengthen problem-solving skills of scholars.
Library Staff: Ms. Julie McPheeters,
Library Media Specialist, joined the Hamilton staff in September 2004. Mrs. A. Cooper is the library
assistant.
General Information: The Hamilton Library
has
automated circulation and online catalog access. Fourteen networked
student computer stations provide access to the district databases and "The
Big Six." Parents and scholars may access the electronic catalog (OPAC)
from the same page.

Check Out: Scholars may check out
2 books at a time.
Books are due back 2 weeks from the date of check out. The date will be stamped
in the back of the book.
Overdue notices will be distributed to
teachers. Overdue fines are 5 cents per day, not including weekends or holidays. The maximum
fine per book is $1.00.
Scholars will be responsible for the items
that are loaned from the library. If a book is lost or ruined (missing pages,
marked up mud or water damaged) the replacement cost of the book will be charged
to the scholar's account.
Acceptable Use Policy: Access to
the Internet is available to scholars. The rules of proper computer and
Internet usage are included in the code of conduct for TPS.

On March 2, 2007, Hamilton scholars participated in
Read Across America day to celebrate the
50th anniversary of Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat. Hamilton scholars
signed the Cat's birthday card and joined in various reading events.
