Congratulations to Mrs. Fedon, Madison's Teacher of the Year!!

bulletMadison finished in the top 10 during this year's TPS Academic Bowl regular season and was defeated by Thoreau in the tournament held on May 1. Congratulations to the team that represented us well...this was the first year in over four years that Madison sent a team to compete.

6th Grade students participated in the Junior Achievement sponsored "Exchange City"  in April. Students applied for jobs, were interviewed, assigned businesses to run, learned to manage a checking account, and had hands-on experience being workers and managers of the "City."

Madison received a Learn & Serve Grant to create a "Peace Garden". Ms. Waugh, our counselor, is the coordinator of the project. Students have been busy cleaning up the area before the garden can be planted.

"GIT 'ER DONE" is our 6th Grade Team's slogan, and Boldt Construction, our Partner in Education, provided these green shirts with the embroidered slogan to our teacher--Mrs. Fedon, Mr. Brownlee, Mr. Risner, Mr. Neighbors, Ms. Carter, Ms. Khattab, and Mrs. James.

Students enjoyed a skate outing as a reward for good behavior!

Parents, friends, and students enjoyed an evening of musical entertainment on Monday, December 18 when all of our grade-level choirs, strings, and newly-formed step team  performed. The Choirs are under the direction of Mrs. Tippen and strings by Mr. Eskitch.

"Achieving Academic Excellence" awards assemblies were held on November 6 for each grade level to celebrate outstanding academic achievement in all subject areas, honor roll students, Students of the Month, and "Raider Power"...our positive behavior program. The 8th Grade Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Tippin, also made its debut!

A Positive Behavior Celebration skate party was held for those outstanding students who exhibited good behavior during the first nine weeks of school!

An informal "Open House" was held for parents and students to meet the staff and pick up schedules on August 17. The turn out was great! The first 60 parents received a gift certificate to use toward the purchase of a new school uniform.
