Children can develop language skills only if they have many opportunities to talk, listen and use language to solve problems and learn about the world.

Long before your child enters school, you can do many things to help her develop language.

A Pre-Kindergarten student's day begins bright and early at 7:50 a.m. where they wait outside for their teacher to pick them up.

Although each teacher has a unique schedule, we incorporate many of the same activities and instructional goals.  This is an overview of our day:

-Arrival, turn in homework, and library check-out

-Breakfast and quiet reading

-2 hour Literacy Block, which includes whole group and small group instruction.

-Social studies or Science

-Lunch and recess (either outside or in the little gym)

-Math Block: Calendar, whole group instruction and math centers.

-Computer Lab

-Snack and '8 Smarts' centers (self selected)

-PE/Music/Little Gym and then go home!
