school. They share a
strong, clear message with young people that their choices today about
drugs, alcohol and tobacco can have lifelong consequences for their
health, safety and wellbeing. Students

positive decisions that move them toward their goals and dreams and away

Food 4
Kids
is a program that provides a weekly backpack of
shelf-stable, nutritious food to children identified by their school as being at risk of hunger over the weekend, when free or
reduced-cost school breakfasts and lunches are not available. It
started during the fall 2005 school year with four elementary schools in
the Tulsa Public School District and has grown to sixteen schools. Our
hope is to expand the program to include
all at-risk,
school-aged children in our service area as resources become available. LEARN MORE

It's All
About Kids
On-going education
that introduces and reinforces healthy attitudes and behaviors
strengthens all of our efforts at THD. Our Health Education Program works
with the media to spread the word about smart choices, and keeps our
community informed about current health issues. In addition, we directly
reach our youth through exciting and informative presentations in public
schools and area juvenile agencies. The THD Health Education
Program also coordinates the "It's All About Kids"
program. By encouraging young people to participate, we influence those
who, in turn, will influence our community’s healthy future.
