The goal of the program is to combine the curriculum and developmental components into one continuous learning experience for children, which enhances their ability to become the very best individuals they can.

The program also provides staff and curriculum development through on-site observation and participation. The combination of these factors is designed to address the vision of both Oklahoma H.B. 1017 and Tulsa Public Schools Goals 2000.

Mayo Demonstration School has a district relationship with and functions as a component of the school district. The site objectives are: To demonstrate a model for core curriculum. To demonstrate ways and means of interfacing technology into the Priority Academic Skills (the Oklahoma Curriculum) and the Tulsa Public Schools Integrated Curriculum. To provide a staff development and curriculum production center for School district faculty.
