    Living Museum Parent Letter

     

    Dear Parents,

    For the 3rd quarter, instead of taking students ‘out’ on a being there, we want to bring the being there to them. We would like to have a living museum using the parents as the participants. We would place you all throughout our rooms and have you talk to the children about your job and how you came to do said job. The children will mill about from parent to parent as you would in a museum.

    Our concept for the 3rd quarter is Cause and Effect. We want the children to understand that their decisions have consequences (good and bad). We want them to see how you got to where you are, How the decisions that you made while in school and then while out of school led you on your current path.

    As teachers, we constantly share with the kids our decisions and what led us to be teachers, but how incredibly awesome would it be to hear from you!

    If you would like to participate, we would need from you 1) a brief job title and description of your duties; 2) issues or events that influenced you down said path; 3) responsibilities/consequences related to your job; 4) education needed for the job; 5) skills required or learned (i.e. time management, communication).

    We would like to have the museum February 12th, from 10:30-12:30pm. If you would like to participate, please have the above summary to your child’s 1st Block teacher by February 6thth so we can have everything organized for you.
