During his tenure as head Baseball Coach, he has seen 3 players drafted by MLB, and 30 others moved on to play on every college level. 

Potocnik spent seven years as an assistant at Pittsburg State University where he worked with pitchers and served as Recruiting Coordinator. In August of 1998, Potocnik was hired to take the reins of the Hornet program. 

Under Coach Potocnik’s guidance the Hornet baseball program has enjoyed more success in the last 9 years than in history of the program.  This includes 4 Conference Titles, 1 Regional Championship, and 1 State Semi-Finalist finish. 

He is an Associate Scout for the Atlanta Braves, and was the 2005 Metro Coach of the Year, 2005 Northeast Oklahoma's Coaches Association Coach of the Year, and Region 7 Coach of the Year. 

Jason is a 1994 graduate of BTW, where he played baseball.  In 2007, he begins his first year on the Hornet staff.  He comes home to Booker T. a two year stint at East Central, where he was the head baseball coach.  Jason has also been the Head Coach at Will Rogers High School.  Jason was named Green Country Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2007.

He brings a wealth of baseball knowledge and will be primarily working with the Hornets infield and coaching 3^rd base.

Jason is married to the former Candice Doctor (Ellis), also a 94 graduate of BTW.  The have two children Dakota and Elle.

He has been married for 11 years to his wife, Melissa.  They have a daughter named Savanna, age 5 and a son named Skyler, age 2.
