Head Coach: Phil Brougher
Coach Brougher will be starting his 4th year as swim coach at Booker T. Washington. He can also be seen in many of the classrooms at one time or another substituting for one of the teachers.
In his three years the swim team has won three (3) Green Country Conference Championships and three (3) All City Championships. The swim team has continued to grow each year. He started with 34 swimmers and has grown to 60 swimmers for the coming season.
In 2006 Coach Brougher was named the Oklahoma Coaches Association Region 7 Coach of the Year. In 2007 he was named the coach of the East Oklahoma All-State swim team.
Coach Brougher has coached swimming since 1964 either at the age group, high school or college level and has had swimmers and relays ranked as high as second in the nation. Many of his swimmers are now successful coaches themselves.
Coach Brougher was a two time NCAA All-American and three time All Big 8 swimmer while at the University of Oklahoma. He had the privilege of swimming under one of the best coaches of all time, Matt Mann and uses many of his techniques.
