Non-Traditional Graduation Options
All early graduation requests are
subject to approval from the principal
Year Early Graduation
- Any student who will complete
all graduation requirements a year early, may apply to become an
early graduate. For a student to graduate a year early, the following
must be done:
- All graduation requirements must be met by May of the
year that the student wishes to graduate and a letter must be
on file from the parent/guardian no later than May 1 of the preceding
year about the approval for the early graduation.
- No night school may be used to earn credits, only summer
school and the regular school day.
- To graduate a year early, a student must have 3 English
credits by the beginning of the senior year and then take their fourth
year of English in the senior year during the day.
Early Graduation
- Students who will complete all graduation requirements
by the end of the first semester of their senior year and wish to
graduate at mid-term (the end of December) must do the following:
- A letter from a parent expressing their approval of
the early graduation needs to be on file preferably before the student
enrolls in their senior classes or at the very latest by the end
of the second week of the first semester of the senior year. The
senior may enroll in two English classes (one literature, 1 writing)
for the first semester to complete his/her English requirement. No
other required class will be given any special conditions.
- Student is responsible for checking with the class
sponsor and other students about deadlines and information on graduation.
No special effort will be made to give the early graduate information
that he/she may miss by not being in attendance at BTW.
- If a student fails a class first semester that is required
for graduation, the student will re-enroll as a full time student
for the spring semester of their senior year.
