Edison Preparatory High School
Edison High School and Middle School offer college preparatory courses for students in grades 6 through 12. Edison continues to offer challenging new classes, developed by teachers and approved through the College Board. Edison’s accelerated program makes it another of TPS’ schools of choice.
In 2007, Newsweek Magazine rewarded Edison with a ranking of 310 among the nation’s Top 1,000 High Schools. The school’s 2007 ranking made a 250 rank jump over the previous year.
Designated as a college preparatory school, Edison serves students with varied abilities in an academically challenging atmosphere. Edison offers dozens of clubs and organizations so that students can incorporate service, learning, leadership and character-building into the school experience.
Edison Middle School students are able to earn high school credit, while many high school courses count as college credit.

Admission to Edison Preparatory School is based on the following criteria:
- Applicants must reside within TPS district boundaries (others considered after TPS students have been placed)
- Freshman applicants must prove successful completion of middle school through eighth grade, or its equivalent
- Sixth grade applicants must prove successful completion of coursework through 5th grade or its equivalent
- Minimum 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale for incoming sixth graders
- Minimum 2.5 GPA on 4.0 scale for incoming freshmen
- Standardized test scores in reading and math
- Attendance
- Behavior
- Written recommendations from at least three faculty/staff from applicant's current or most recent school
