Wilson Middle School
Sporting programs in five widely-spoken languages, Wilson would make a United Nations translator proud. Chinese, French, German, Russian and Spanish are all spoken here, taught by native speakers, and part of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years program. The emphasis on languages leads to interesting lessons, such as the one that took students on an imaginary trip to McDonald’s restaurants across the globe and paying for purchases using local currency. Such exercises increase students’ awareness of a global society.
Wilson’s stated goal is: “To establish a safe and engaging learning environment for students, staff, and community. Students will be encouraged, challenged, and inspired to continue the quest for life-long learning.”
Qualified Wilson students are also afforded geographical preference when applying to Washington High School.
