2009 Summer School Driver Education Information Sheet
WHEN:
First Semester - June 1 through June 26, 2009
Second Semester - June 29 through July 27, 2009 (No School July 3rd)
WHERE:
1st Semester - Booker T. Washington High School
2nd Semester - Booker T. Washington High School
CLASS TIME: Monday through Friday, 4 hours per day, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. *Classroom time and driving time are flexible. Students will not be in a classroom setting for 4 hours every day, once the theory portion is complete.
FEE: The fee will be $225.00 per semester (cash only-NO CHECKS) for in-district students as well as out-of-district students. Fees must be paid at the time of enrollment and are not subject to refund unless the class is discontinued because of insufficient enrollment or an appropriate instructor is not available.
ENROLLMENT: Students may enroll at the Education Service Center, 3027 S. New Haven Ave., between Harvard and Yale, on the following dates and times:
First Semester Classes:
May 27 and May 29, 2009 -- 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. -- ESC
May 28, 2009 -- 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. -- ESCSecond Semester Classes:
June 17 and June 19, 2009 -- 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. -- ESC
June 18, 2009 -- 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. -- ESC
A student absent from class more than ten (10) hours in a semester may not be able to earn credit.
AGE REQUIREMENTS: Only students who will be at least 15 years old when summer classes begin are eligible to enroll. Students must show proof of age by providing a state issued original birth certificate.
Students must be 15-1/2 years old or older and have the following to take the permit test:
- Birth Certificate (Original – state issued)
- Social Security Number (Federally mandated rule)
- Second form of identification (student ID card or Social Security card)
- Ball-point pen
- Student Enrollment Card - (green) given to student by instructor
- Proof of Enrollment/Reading Proficiency Form (from your current school)
