Laurel Cox is the 2023-2024 Carver Middle School Teacher of the Year!
This is Laurel's fourth year teaching gifted and talented at Carver. She is also the team chair for seventh grade and the National Junior Honor Society sponsor.
"My inspiration to become a teacher comes from seeing my mom work in education my whole life. Her dedication to shaping the minds of kids, contributing to their personal growth, and making a positive impact in their lives inspired me to want to do the same."
She said everyone has to work together to achieve the best outcomes for students.
"What I’ve enjoyed most is seeing a student overcome something they were struggling with in class and hearing 'this assignment made my brain hurt but in a fun way.'"
