2021 Bond Package for Tulsa Public Schools

On June 8, 2021, Tulsans will vote on the 2021 Bond for Tulsa Public Schools, a $414 million investment in Tulsa children, teachers, and families that will make an impact in every school. Bond funding will play a critical role in our classrooms, especially in our students’ college- and career- readiness by improving access to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs district-wide. You will have an opportunity to vote on four propositions included in this bond:

A Deeper Dive: Proposition 1 – Safe Learning Environments

Proposition 1 will keep all of our schools and buildings safe, accessible, and in good repair by focusing on three key areas:

  • Building and space accessibility for all Tulsans;
  • Campus safety and security enhancements; and
  • Safe, welcoming, and joyful learning environments.

Proposition 1 includes investments in things like parking lot resurfacing, new fencing, new security cameras, new secured entrances, and new exterior lighting for our elementary schools.

ADA-Accessible Building Improvements ($14.7 million)

Proposition 1 will also improve building accessibility for all Tulsans with a ten-year accessibility improvement plan. Phase 1 in the 2021 Bond focuses on:

  • Exterior egress improvements;
  • Restroom accessibility modifications; and
  • Repairs and replacements for chair lifts and elevators as needed.
