Will Plank, an incoming senior at Booker T. Washington High School, has been selected as a senator for American Legion Boys Nation in the Washington, D.C. area, July 23-30.
Boys Nation is an annual American Legion program that includes civic training, leadership development and a focus on Americanism. Plank previously was elected Mayor of his City at Oklahoma Boys State, which had roughly 250 participants. He also served as Press Secretary.
At Booker T. Washington High School, Plank has served as lieutenant of Tulsa Police Explorers, earning the program’s community service and law enforcement service awards. He participates in Brazilian jiu jitsu and speech and debate. An exchange student to Israel in 2018, Plank has received the Native American Academic Excellence Award and Harvard Undergraduate Foreign Policy Initiative Outstanding Student Award. A resident of Tulsa, Plank hopes to attend West Point or the U.S. Naval Academy and eventually pursue a career with the CIA or FBI.
