Students from Hale High School, Edison Preparatory, and McLain High School attended the Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference earlier this month. Students in BPA can compete in events during the conference to demonstrate their skills.
Adviser Bill Martin and students Noah Gerow and Erik Sierra Gonzalez attended the State Leadership Conference as Courtesy Corps attendants.
Hale students Zoey Markham, Nyiana Mitchell, Dalia Olmos, and Karlianna Jones competed as a team in Small Business Management and earned 8th place.
Zoey also competed individually in Human Resources Management and received 5th place.
Two 8th grade students from Edison Middle School, Jamarris Jenkins and Jesse Johnson, competed in Word Processing. Jamarris Jenkins placed 1st and Jesse Johnson placed 2nd.
Avery Majors placed 1st in Fundamentals of Desktop Publishing, and Colin Clingan placed 2nd in Intermediate Word Processing. Both students are seniors at Edison.
