Dear parents and families,

As we navigate through our first week of distance learning, we are continuing to focus on building strong student-teacher relationships. We also want to provide students with meaningful content to support their learning through the end of the school year. 

We understand the barriers you may be facing during this difficult time, and we want you to know that we do not expect you to home-school your student. In other words, you are not expected to recreate school at home. That would be impossible even in the best of times! 

We do want to support you to continue their learning as best as you can. We are committed to providing the resources you need offline and online for at-home learning activities that focus on reading, writing, and problem-solving. That is why we have made a few changes to ensure more information and resources about distance learning are available on our website at www.tulsaschools.org/distancelearning. 

On our website, you can find learning resources divided by grade level. Each section includes student learning schedules, learning packets, television programming, and links to resources. You can find those resources here:

Elementary: Pre-K-5th
Middle School/Junior High: 6th-8th
High School: 9th-12th

Starting Friday, April 10, families can pick up printed learning packets at all Tulsa Public Schools grab-and-go meal sites for students who are not working online. If you are working online, you can still pick up packets if you would like. 

We will distribute a total of three learning packets between now and the end of the school year. Families can pick up the first at-home learning packet between April 10 and April 17, which will include one week of content.

Additional packets will be available for pickup April 17 through May 1 and May 1 through May 15. These packets will have two weeks of at-home learning content. 

The learning packets will not need to be returned and might look different than the home assignments your student’s teacher provides. You can find meal site locations and hours at www.tulsaschools.org/mealsites. Please note, students participating in online learning with their teacher do not need to complete these printed learning packets.

Please also do not hesitate to contact your child’s school leader with any questions or suggestions that you might have. Estimados padres y familias:

Mientras navegamos esta primera semana de aprendizaje a distancia, continuamos a enfocarnos en crear buenas relaciones entre los estudiantes y los maestros y proveer a los estudiantes con un buen contenido educativo hasta el final del año escolar.

Entendemos que pueden estar enfrentando problemas o barreras en este tiempo difícil, por lo tanto no esperamos que usted eduque a su estudiante en casa. En otras palabras, no esperamos que ustedes creen una escuela en su casa. Eso sería imposible hasta en los mejores tiempos.  

Nosotros los queremos apoyar para que la educación pueda seguir de la mejor manera. Nos comprometemos a proporcionar recursos en línea o fuera de línea para las actividades en casa que se enfocan en lectura, escritura, y la resolución de problemas. Por eso, hicimos algunos cambios para asegurarnos que haya más información y recursos sobre la educación a distancia que están disponibles en nuestra página web www.tulsaschools.org/distancelearning. 

En nuestra página web, usted podrán encontrar recursos de aprendizaje para cada nivel de grado. Cada sección incluye horarios de clases, paquetes de contenido educativo, programación de televisión y los enlaces a los recursos. Puede encontrar estos recursos aquí:
 

Primaria: Prekínder-Quinto
Secundaria: Sexto- Octavo
Preparatoria: Noveno- Doceavo

Desde el viernes 10 de abril, las familias de los estudiantes que no están tomando clases por internet, podrán recoger los paquetes de contenido educativo impresos en todos los centros de distribución de comida para llevar de las Escuela Publicas de Tulsa. Si su estudiante está tomando clases por internet, también pueden recoger los paquetes si así lo desean.

Distribuiremos un total de tres paquetes de contenido educativo entre ahora y el final del año escolar. Las familias pueden recoger el primer paquete de aprendizaje en casa entre el 10 de abril y el 17 de abril, que incluirá el contenido para una semana.

Paquetes adicionales estarán disponibles para recoger del 17 de abril hasta el 1 de mayo y 1 de mayo hasta el 15 de mayo. Estos paquetes tienen dos semanas de contenido de aprendizaje en casa. No necesita devolver estos paquetes de contenido educativo y puede que estos sean diferentes comparado a la tarea que el maestro o la maestra de su estudiante proveyó. Puede encontrar información de los centros de distribución de comida para llevar en www.tulsaschools.org/mealsites.  Tenga en cuenta, los estudiantes que tienen clases por internet con su maestro (a) no necesitan completar estos paquetes impresos de contenido educativo.
