Close-up of FAFSA

Graduation will be here before we know it, and we want to help you and your students get ready.

Did you know that, beginning this school year, all seniors must complete a FAFSA application in order to graduate? This is a new graduation requirement set forth by the Oklahoma State Board of Education. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) helps eligible students obtain financial aid for two- or four-year college, technical school, or career training programs! Completing the application can be the first step in working toward your student’s post-graduation plans.

The FAFSA application for Class of 2025 graduates will open on December 1, 2024. Funding is awarded on a first come, first served basis, so you’ll want to submit your application as soon as it becomes available. Check out this list of ways that you can start preparing before the application opens.

Tulsa Public Schools holds regular support sessions where you can learn about the process and create your FSA ID in advance of the application opening. After December 1, our team can even help you complete the FAFSA application onsite. The next three support sessions are listed below. We hope to see you at one soon!

  • FAFSA Info Session: Saturday, November 9 from 10am-2pm in the North Star Academy gymnasium at 525 E. 46th St. N.
  • FAFSA Info Session + onsite application help: Thursday, December 5 from 3-7pm at the TPS Education Service Center at 3027 S. New Haven Ave.
  • FAFSA Info Session + onsite application help: Saturday, December 7 from 10am-2pm in the North Star Academy gymnasium at 525 E. 46th St. N.
