Inclement Weather for Intersession Week

We are continuing to work with the National Weather Service and Tulsa Area Emergency Management Agency to monitor the weather conditions and forecast. At this time, the weather models are calling for freezing temperatures through the end of the week and the City of Tulsa is encouraging Tulsans to stay off the roads.

Additionally, the Public Service Company of Oklahoma is under an Energy Emergency Alert Level 3, meaning that controlled service outages may be necessary to manage the demands on local electrical grids. Service interruptions would take place only as a last resort, and PSO is asking Oklahomans to conserve energy by turning down their home thermostats, turning off lights in rooms that are not being used, and minimizing the use of large appliances.

As we shared last week, we have cancelled all small group, in-person activities planned for the intersession week. All Care and Connect services, enrichment programming, and student orientations scheduled during intersession (for Tuesday, Feb. 16 – Friday, Feb. 19) are cancelled. Grab-and-go meal sites and Mobile Meals are not available during intersession weeks, so sites will continue to be closed and routes will not be running.

We have also made further adjustments to our schedule for this week:

All Tulsa Public School buildings and sites (inclusive of the Enrollment Center) will be CLOSED on Tuesday, Feb. 16, Wednesday, Feb. 17, Thursday, Feb. 18, and Friday, Feb. 19.  Tulsa Public Schools team members should check their email or follow the link in the text message you received for information about their schedules for this week. If you are a Tulsa Public Schools employee and did not receive a text message, please contact TPSinfo@tulsaschools.org.
