Central High School flag football star Jatavia Tarver signed to play for Pratt Community College.

Jatavia served as the quarterback for Central's team during the inaugural season, as well as helping on the defensive side.

"Growing up I always played regular football with some of the kids around the neighborhood," said Jatavia. "I was like this could be a big opportunity. I know what I'm doing. I can shine."

Jatavia is also standout basketball player, earning Defensive Player of the Year. She excelled the classroom too. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class this past spring. She plans to study to become a lawyer.

Jatavia is the fifth Tulsa Public Schools student-athlete to sign to play flag football at the collegiate level.

"Even though you can't tackle, it's still a tough game," she said. "It's coming up. More schools are coming to the league. I'm really excited for my younger girls who I used to play with on the basketball team. They are going to be playing. All you got to do is just put your mind to it. It's really fun."

The second season of the Driven Flag Football league in Tulsa will begin in October.
